We go back in time to the Middle Ages Lisbon to reveal the importance of urban gardens in food sustainability and in the social fabric of cities, in the present and in the future.
On the way, we stop off for a "trip to the vegetable gardens", reliving the Sunday habit of the people of Lisbon of around 100 years ago. We meet a diverse range of gardeners and other people contributing to the city's horticultural life and enjoy the seed library, which illustrates the existing biodiversity in the municipal vegetable parks of Lisbon.
