Saint Anthony is the only Portuguese Doctor of the Church and the first Franciscan Master to have taught at the School of Bologna.

Professor Maria de Lourdes Sirgado Ganho is leading a free course on the sermons and philosophy of Saint Anthony of Lisbon, highlighting his canonically approved theological work, which consists of Sermons.

Over the course of four sessions, we trace his journey in Portugal, in São Vicente de Fora and Santa Cruz de Coimbra, while addressing some of the issues present in his work, such as the relationship between nature, man, and God, emphasising mysticism as an essential dimension of the saint's Franciscan spirituality.

19 OCT - Biography of St Anthony
26 OCT - Sermons of Saint Anthony
09 November - The conception of Man
