Inês Ribeiro and Raquel Policarpo

This session features guests Inês Ribeiro and Raquel Policarpo, who in their book Segredos de Lisboa (Secrets of Lisbon) reveal the city and its people as they were in other times through archaeological remains that can be found in museums, car parks, public toilets and churches.

About the authors

Inês Ribeiro was born on 28 April 1984. In 2007, she completed a degree in History, specialising in Archaeology, from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Lisbon. In 2008, she completed a master's degree in Archaeology, specialising in the Roman Period. Her professional career is mainly related to archaeological research, participating in various archaeological excavations and sharing responsibility for the Archaeological Project of the Roman Ovens of Morraçal da Ajuda, Peniche. In 2011, together with Raquel Policarpo, she founded Time Travellers, a tourist entertainment agency dedicated to promoting Portugal's history, culture and archaeology.

Raquel Policarpo was born on 20 June 1984. In 2006, she completed a degree in History, specialising in Archaeology, from the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the University of Lisbon. In 2008, she completed a master's degree in Archaeology, specialising in the Roman Period. Her professional career is mainly related to preventive archaeology. She is a freelance archaeologist and works in various parts of the country monitoring archaeological works and emergency archaeological excavations. In 2011, together with Inês Ribeiro, she founded Time Travellers, a tourist entertainment agency dedicated to promoting Portugal's history, culture and archaeology.
